Good tips!
Hello! I've been a lurker for the past few years most of the time, just buying stuff on sale from people :)
I work as a DJ so I don't get to wear my nice watches.. I bought a cheap 20 quid digital watch from Amazon for work... yet this is the one the girls all prefer to my Omegas or IWCs or Breitlings...
Very very nice.. feeling a little jealous here!
Good tips!
The thing is I don't worry when going to a Scandinavian country. I'm hoping to go to Iceland in the next few month's and may even take my usual 2 or 3 with strap changes etc.
well I don't think the watch was a problem at all, but then I wasn't wearing any gold or a shiny stainless steel watch. I wasn't worried once I was there, and obviously not when I was wearing long...
Funny story while out there. I was staying next to the CityStars Mall... not 0.1 miles from the centre of town according to Expedia, and went to the Rolex shop and asked them where I could look at...
Well, no problems with wearing an IWC watch out there, but the country is full of scam artists :( Left a bad taste in the mouth. Got scammed for a "tour" at $120 when I was low on money and found the...
Didn't they reimburse you?
Long story but no. I almost lost this new Nokia N900 to them as well. Why do they refuse to ring the doorbell and knock ? It was lucky that I was right...
I guess this Sinn - in my eyes - cost double what it did as the first time I bought it, UPS stole it. Took me a year or two to even contemplate buying it again :(
PS. I'll be staying in Central Cairo and taking a day flight to see Luxor.
I should be more worried about mosquitoes (I hate them!) rather than this... maybe I should take long sleeve clothes. I...
This is the sort of Q normally asked by very un-travelled Americans wanting to know if all the backward cavemen in 'Europe' will have at their JLC or Breguet as soon as they step off the boat ...
I was thinking that, and no worries about getting it wet, like i am with my watches even though it's rated for 2000m!
I'm not even considering taking the Aquatimer.
As you said, no watch is a good investment. If you like the watch and are happy to keep it even if the value stays the same or goes down, and can afford it, keep it.
A couple of years ago I...
Pretty much sums up how i feel
Me too.
Just a thought here chaps, we can't all buy 2nd hand - there's got to be people buying 1st hand to enable us.

True....
No one's mentioned: an Omega Seamaster Pro or Breitling Superocean. Within your price range. A Doxa is the ultimate toolwatch though :)
I'd be interested to know how you end up unlocking it. I heard newer phones are tougher to do.
The last 4 phones I bought were unlocked, the first from Vodafone:
Sony Ericsson K800i
Nokia N82...
Depending on the cost, you may be better off flying out to wherever it's cheaper and bringing it back in on your wrist.
Disclaimer: you must declare high value items to customs.
Otherwise, bite...
That one works :)
I have an Omega SMP Chrono with links that have gold, titanium and tantalium. I doubt it's to everyone's taste but I like it :)
thanks, I'm a little worried though, and the sand and everything, but I keep it screwed down. I had no problem wearing an Omega GMT when going to Sweden. I guess I'm just being paranoid? I also have...
Nice watch! Wear it well :)
nothing wrong with an automatic, if worn regularly it'll be as accurate, if not more so than a quartz. if you dont wear it
regularly then what do you expect really.[/quote:1nobs2un]
In some ways...
Are you bored of the ones you have? Do you wear them a lot? If not, you may as well. Personally I prefer variety, but an orange hand 1655 would be SO tempting *drool*.
I'm going on holiday to see the Pyramids and am wondering if I should take my Sinn U2 ? Are there brazen robbers there ? I'm considering getting a rubber strap/deployant to make it look less...
