Thank you all!
I'm flabbergasted at the quality of this dial if it really is that old; it's so beautifully crisp. Next stop the jewellers to have a peak inside I think!
Thanks,
Ed

Thanks Kevin - had another crack and managed to get a halfway decent pic I hope!

Good evening all,
This is my late godfather's pocket watch about which I know nothing but I am father interested as I can't find a good reference style resource on the internet.
The marks I...
I believe that the correct term for the collar is ‘popped’ which is cringey enough to explain his discomfort

I’ve been circling the idea of a 38mm due since they came out. Seems a bit at odds to Panerai perception but I think they look great.

(I only say omega because they seem to make every style and permutation under the sun at the moment)

I’d suggest heading to an omega boutique for a browse to establish what style you like.

I can’t get behind the hodinkee editions anymore. I think since pulvrient joined the team after the buy-in the site has been obviously aimed at accelerating people’s watch tastes towards what they...
Overrated - for me, the Hulk. I went to buy one on holiday a few years ago and the green flat bezel disappointed so badly in person. Now that they’re above 10k I’m just shocked.
Underrated -...
Buy secondhand and something you like. It might appreciate, but it’s more likely you’ve a slowly depreciating asset that someone else took the big hit on.

For me they just make too many watches in too many styles to have a coherent brand message.
If they divorced the heritage watches and branded them all heuer, then took around 50% of the watches...
Kermit / Cermit all the way for me. Which one would you pick if you had to only have one of them?

I got the opposite - was yours a family owned or group AD?

I got a blue datejust with almost no wait - there wasn’t one in stock but it was mid lockdown and they got one in the first consignment which hadn’t been allocated.

There’s one on SC I think.
I’m reserving judgment until I see one in the flesh. I had my name down for a sub date (and wasnt prepared to skip the waiting list by buying a Bremont or three at rrp)...
What Swiss Tony level of tosspottery is this guy talking?!

A special TZ edition BB 58 would get the required number surely. Curved text and rose logo instead of shield maybe?

Fifty fathoms milspec I think - 40mm so not too big and I don’t think I’d tire of it.

To me that looks to be a monogram, which would work as a silver trench watch must have belonged to an officer.

I have a 126200 that I’m considering having brushed - I think it’s a great mod.

I chose an automatic Speedmaster Legend for my graduation instead of the Submariner LV that my mum wanted to get for me. The speedmaster is unreliable and now barely worn.
