Just finished "Newton and the Counterfeiter", an entertaining and interesting read. Before that, Bob Dylan's autobiography "Chronicles" which was a little unusual but I loved it.

I'm very jealous, these are superb.
I quite like these, but not the shiny bezel. Has anyone converted theirs to a brushed finish?
The Miele's are well built, but I think the user interface design on them is usually much better thought through as well.
I'm saving to have it done though I'll be getting LASEK rather than LASIK because it's safer for my type of eyesight.
Agreed, the green canvas looks great, I used to have one and regret selling it.
Are there any resources out there for people looking to get started making their own straps?
It looks very good, SBIII-ish, though I find chunky bracelets look great but are too heavy to wear all the time.
Great photos, there's something about the Bond strap that's very eye-catching. I always get more comments on my watches when they're on Bond natos.
In pictures, the lugs seem quite long on this watch, do they seem like that in person?
Erkahund on ebay has a nice kit available sometimes, I picked one up a few months ago.
Do the dials transfer easily between quartz movements?
The SKX031 looks fantastic, well done!
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm still leaning towards the Speedbird or the Sinn, but I'll check out the others as well.
It's a great looking watch, there is certainly something very pleasing about the proportions.
I've been looking recently at the Speedbird 3, which I think has a superb design, highly legible and completely uncluttered. The other watches I've seen with a similar look are the Sinn 556 and the...
Congrats, that's a beautiful watch. It's definitely one of the cleanest looking watches out there.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, the pics really help. Unfortunately, Eddie's ostrich grain strap doesn't come in 18mm, so I can't use that. I've ordered a few different straps, we'll see how they...
I've just bought a silver 36mm Oris pointer date off ebay. It's a beautiful watch, I'm looking for a couple of new straps for it. I was going to get a black braided nato, but I also wanted a brown...
I have to agree, the seiko 5's are much better at this price point. My SNK809 is absolutely rock solid, and a great looking watch too.
Great choice with the 103. I also think the 556 and the 656 are superb watches, some of the best designs I've seen.
It certainly seems beautifully engineered, but the styling looks a little fussy to me. I have nothing against paying for a high end seiko though.
It doesn't affect me at all, because I can't afford any expensive watches yet :(
My glasses I got online for £40 are probably 90% as good as my £300 frames. Also, buying contact lenses directly online has saved me hundreds over the last few years. It's well worth it to shop...
Does freezing a watch like that do any damage to the internals? Its impressive it it comes through that sort of treatment unscathed.
