Just to add my 2p, recently bought a grand seiko that went through authentication. Was a bit worried they would try open the case. No idea if they did or not. Watch arrived just fine though.

i wouldn't stand for misaligned markers on a chrono.... kinda defeats the purpose?
Do they need to evolve? genuine question.

Wanted a yellow one for years and after acquiring 2 with various issues (chrono reset problems, crunchy winding) i just gave up.
That spb149 line is exactly what ive been waiting for from seiko.. Very tired of immense oversized divers as of late.
Longevity wise, is there anything that would stop it from lasting as long as a mechanical rolex if regularly serviced by rolex?
