Modern solar and kinetic watches use the same type of Li-ion cell. The only difference is the way they are charged. Most models of both types have 5 - 8 months power reserve. Some calibres of both...
But it did result in a few bargains to be had. Quite a few of those early ones packed it in after a couple of years and were thrown in the back of a drawer, only to show up on ebay at some point....
Yeah I'm afraid there's nothing else like it that has all of those features in one package, at any price let alone affordable. A few watches may have one or two. Certina has just released the DS...
No. Seiko and Citizen are separate companies btw. What features attract you to that model..the accuracy...the size?
I grew up with mechanical watches but had no hesitation in switching to quartz when they became affordable by the early 80's. More recently I went back to mechanicals and had a lot of fun with them....
Might be just the angle of the pic but the fit on that endlink doesn't look great.

That's just a lighting effect. Check the pics in the ebay link.
Just the 12 instead of 10.
I doubt that it makes it more valuable. I could see how a limited run of less obvious errors or quirks could be, but if this is a one-off mistake it's just an...
How does something like this go unnoticed? Surely they wouldn't knowingly let this leave the factory?

I have this older model aerospace and I love it. It has everything I need in a casual watch and is extremely comfortable. The 40mm case is the perfect size for my 6.5" wrist. I was considering an...
Regarding the date wheel, blue would be ideal. But that's fairly uncommon and not something I would have expected so I guess I'm surprised by the number of mentions. Most blue dialed watches have...
Another day at the office, and TGIF!

If my wrist was a little slimmer I'd get one of these. I'm not aware of any other moon phase HAQ in existence.

No it's SS and cheaper than the 011. At 39mm it's also a little smaller, but it's an LE with only 369 pieces and most are sold.

There is also a rarer version of the Snowflake. SBGA129:

Sounds like you took your time deciding and I'm sure you'll love it. The changes from those long discontinued models are fairly minor really and the price is much better nowadays. You still get that...
Yeah I had an SBGT019 myself, lovely model.
I think they've done away with applied minute markers completely.
The Chronomaster is CTQ57-1201 on bracelet or CTQ57-1203 on croc. It's discontinued...
My Chronomaster has applied metal minute markers.

Some of the early GS mechanicals were...
Yes, your SBGT019 was the older case shape. New models were introduced in the late 2000's and the quality was reduced. As an example, this is the SBGT021 from the same series:

I wouldn't mind one of these:

I've had this for years. I think it's 38.5.

I enjoy the variety it adds to my collection.

I like to take a solar quartz so that it can enjoy basking in the sun with me. ;)
The Mako's blue is one of the nicest there is, regardless of price. A fun watch for the summer sun.
