Truly beautiful pieces; thanks for the write-up
Spidermonkey, those servicing costs from AP are on par with VC and PP; Rolex considerably cheaper (with 10yr interval for first service with new models)
Beautiful photography; thanks!
One of my favourite single-hand watches: http://www.speake-marin.com/collections/j-class-collection/velsheda/velsheda-deco/38
Nice collection of other 1 hand watches: http://www.uniquewatchguide.com/single-hand-watches/
Great website; and great Amazon too!
Wow, thanks Stix; the SD has definitely 'evolved' into the current models

Did they take the back off and inspect inside the watch?
Exactly what I was told when I had my Rolex serviced; I used to hand-wind but not anymore.
Great comparison photo, thanks (DSSD should read 44mm diameter)
Now that's how the Cellini Moonphase should have been done; Rolex take note! BTW beautiful watch
Most branches of 'The Watch Gallery' have them in stock (thewatchgallery.com).
I'm guessing that is where Rolex are going. The 43mmSD is too close to the DSSD in terms of diameter, thickness and price, and no one 'really' needs the DSSD depth rating. So I wouldn't be surprised...

Thanks for Adblock Plus recommendation; that did the trick for me.
High prices, limited production runs, separating Grand Seiko from Seiko; they are positioning G.S. as an ultra-luxury brand, and collectors will snap these up, driving up cache and prices in the...
The film 'Longitude' (regarding Harrison's clock, mentioned in the BBC article) is well worth watching too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecrf8KhVcyo
Thanks! Great 'behind the scenes' video too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpdUvqLZaNo
Is that for employees of Beaverbrooks only, or for the general buying public? Thanks
Last August was first time in 4yrs when got hit by same from Seiya; now I factor this into final price.
Initially bought a ND as liked the clean looks; but after 4m flipped for s/h SubC Date, as didn't realise I needed the check the date so much :grief: expensive lesson :(
My post applies to UK-resident travellers, and my comments applied wrt UK law (however I'm not a lawyer, just work in the UK police). I think similar law applies to the rest of the EU (happy to be...
Phew; it's hard work! But I'll get there hopefully lol. Cheers guys!
