No I never read the thread. I also never researched the undercutting tool which can be used to cut space in solid materials into which the wings can fit.

I used these. They seem alright so far after about 9 months.

I would go for an Android tablet over an iPad because I don't like iTunes. The only thing I will say is if you go for an Android tablet don't get an Archos tablet. It doesn't have access to Google...
A nice looking watch and one I considered as well. Right until I saw how big it was. I don't think my weedy wrists would suit a watch that big.
Congratulations on the purchase though.
That's a great looking watch, never seen one of them before. Just out of interest how big is it?
Number 09060350 is sitting up here in Jarrow with me. It gets let out at least once per week.
Here's mines, a Colt GMT. It looks likes they don't make it anymore, which is a shame as its a nice watch. Its just a stock image because I'm crap at taking photos.

In my opinion the MilGauss is the best looking of the Rolex watches today, although I prefer the standard over the GV. I had the chance to get one years ago but when for a Breitling instead. But...
I'll put a vote down for the Speedbird III. The only Time Factors watch I've kept a hold of.
I was looking at the CWC website earlier and found myself on the quartz chronograph page. But the images they have are rubbish. Does anyone have any side on shots of the watch so I can see how high...
I prefer the smaller watches. I don't like the idea of having a lot of empty space in a watch.
I recently bought myself a Hamilton 34mm which is quite nice but I think it is a bit small, I have...
A beautiful looking watch. But thats as much as I can say as I know nothing about pocket watches.
Last time I was in Singapore I was lucky teh shops were all closing for the night. I have an unfortunate habit of buying watches when I get bored in airports :shame:
I found the original Speedbird quite uncomfortable. So back in about 2002 I got rid of it. I eventually replaced it with a Speedbird 3 last year.
I'm looking for a fairly robust watch with a day-date feature. Something along the lines of a Damasko DA36/46. I've looked at Bremont and Sinn and quite a few Seikos and of that bunch I'm leaning...
How big is the safe? You could try one of these:

Thanks very much for your reply. From your comments it seems that paying the extra for the Bremont would be worth it, what with the better case and customer service. Its always useful to hear from...
Its certainly a striking looking watch, and I love the red display. But the AT is the better looking watch in my opinion. Plus you'd be able to get it under a shirt cuff :)
First off, I'd like to thank everyone for the comments they have made. For the most part they have been insightful and helpful.
But I think we may have moved off topic, and I fear this may be...
The price is not important to me, I was just trying to work out if I was missing something in the Bremont that makes it so much more costly. Its the same with Rolex, I can never figure out why they...
Nice looking watch, although I'm not sure about the hour hand. I probably learn to live with it if I had one though.
It depends on what modified means. Being cynical you could say that changing a screw or engraving a nice pattern on the movement counts as modifying it. Without knowing whats been modified you...
I know what you mean. Which ever one I end up getting will be watch number 12 in the drawer. If I include all the one's I've disposed of over the years it would probably be closer to number 25.
I'll admit that I didn't search the forums and for that I apologise. But if there are 14 pages of links that I'd be hear until doomsday readying them all.
The reason I asked was because both...
