My grail is a Patek World Time........maybe one day
About 90 for me
The box and paper can be worth a lot with vintage watches. E.g. a Rolex Prince case can add 500-700 easily.
All my watches are keepers. I dont really buy anthing unless I really want it and I doubt I'd ever sell anything out of my collection.
Welcome
A watch could be a grail if its either
a) Very hard to find
b) very expensive
I cant see how it could be anything else??
Strange to think a watch may be worth more as scrap as whoever bought it could just get it scrapped, therefore, putting a floor on the price.
I never have any problems with eBay. PayPal always sides with the buyer and if you want added protection, just use a credit card as the PayPal payment.
A bit too much for me. I prefer understated elegance
We have a winner :)
I personally wouldn't want a watch (unless vintage) without all the paperwork, tags and box.....but then again, that's just me
I really like the sea Dweller. Unfortunately, its far too big for me :(
I've never had a problem with ebay as I always meet the seller before I pay for the item so I can get the chance to inspect the item.
They look like Goldsmiths specials
I was thinking of getting a safe, but then I read a story about a couple to got burgled and were made to open their safe in a rather unpleasant way. I'm now looking to rent a deposit box. Anyone...
I sometimes walk down to Burlington Arcade during my lunch break. It must house the most expensive watch shops in the country. I got chatting to one of the owners who basically told me that he...
Evening all
I'm thinking about buying the following book. Does anyone own this, if so, is it any good?

I must say, I am rather fond of these watches. They've got a really nice 70s feel about them, especially the ones with the orange second hands
Good job. Just goes to show, anything is possible :)
I'll look forward to seeing it
You can't have too many watches.....just not enough funds to buy them :D
+1 on this. Is it the same quality? I doubt it but IMO it gives the IWC a run for its money.[/quote]
The Stowa is very nice but I'd rather have the IWC :)
Hi
Here are a few pics I've taken of a Rolex I bought about 12 years ago. Its been sitting in a box until a couple of months ago when I decided to get it serviced and source a strap and buckle. ...
Good tips. What kind of tools do you usually carry to open the case backs? I'm probably going to buy myself a few bits but would like some recommendations on what is going to be the most useful.
I am quite disciplined when it comes to what I want to pay (thankfully). The only thing that worries me about buying at auction is the fact a lot of dealers will offload stock that is unsaleable and...
