Going back to beetles, this is the beautiful Rose Chafer, quite a common beetle in the UK...not huge, about 3/4" or 19mm long. I love the iridescent green and bronze colours....
Wow! Love that Deaths Head Hawk moth...a very rare visitor to the UK. This is a larger green Mantis, found on holiday in Menorca....
As an entomologist, this thread is right up my street. I don't want to highjack the thread, but I have lots of pics of other fascinating insects.....praying mantises, cicadas, butterflies, moths,...
This is the larva of the Cockchafer (the Stag beetle larva is more or less the same but slightly bigger, and found in decaying wood) and feeds on grass/plant roots. It's not uncommon to dig them up...
Another Cockchafer (Maybug) pic...this is the male with the venetian blind like antennae.

Awwww what the hell...it's worth another look without having to...
The Phantom gets a lot of good reviews...I beleive it's what they use on Countryfile to get the aerial shots. Been looking myself for a really good drone, and this one seems to tick all the boxes....
+1 for Hillarys....we've had blinds and shutters measured and fitted by them. No probs and great products.
As a pro gardener, I would go with a Honda for a rotary, but a cylinder for really good results. This is the Allett I use at work to mow the formal lawns on the estate where I work......
That's the jacket Johnny 'Nice Painter' used to wear in the Fast Show.....Black...black....it's all BLACK!!!....:smile-new:

Definitely...it's a bit awkward to apply to the overhead pergola because it's like water, but I use a small 4" roller to do that, and a standard 9" roller to do the deck itself. It smells of white...
I built this deck nearly 15 years ago, with tanalised decking from a local fencing supplier. It has had an annual jet wash using a patio attachment to get rid of any green that appears during the...
Tried them all over the years, but settled on this for the last 20 years....
