They do wear surprisingly small. I also have the 5 (mid size) and the 6X wears about the same because it’s slimmer and has shorter lugs. Didn’t seem much benefit in the 7 at twice the price.

    Be really careful with this

I heard of a case where costs of a home office had been offset against income tax and the tax man took an interest in the capital gain when the house was sold. They judges that a portion of the...

Bought a “broken penknife” on eBay for £1. It was a Micra with a snapped blade. I sent it to Whitby with an offer to pay for repair, but it came back by return of post as good as new.

Used to be IWC for me too - no longer sadly.

Started with Skinny Ing 3521, then a 1954 8521 in 18kt yg, finally a Doppel 3713. Their newer watches are just too big for me. The Doppel was the largest production wrist watch in the world when it...

    Not quite...

Tudors used to have A Schild movements (my father's one from the 50s does). Tudor had Rolex made (and Rolex branded) cases, but bought the ebauches.

Buy a steel Rolex and don'r read watch forums

You can go anywhere with a steel Rolex, and (sadly) watch forums tend to breed dissatisfaction with what you have when something new and shiny comes along.

Many of my watches have appreciated in...
  15. Had crossed my mind...

I replaced the Dynamic many years ago with an IWC 3713 so I shouldn't complain. The Dynamic didn't get much wrist time and has been a safe Queen since then. I'm delighted that it's being worn, it's...
