Could be exactly that, and after watching the program on TV about the way the workers are pushed and for the meagre wages they pay I am sure the occasional "bonus" is removed from the system.

Hmm, I have been using my Aerospace as my everyday work watch (before I retired early at Christmas :) ) and it got knocked and abused generally in an engineering environment but the AR coating stayed...
