They do quite a lot of Rolex Hommages, which are, if not understated, quite restrained. On the other hand, I came across a website called Invicta-shop or something. That was quite a retina searing...
Just put a Rolex badge on it, and the fanboys will be saying how wonderful & exciting it looks!
[QUOTE=earlofsodbury;6391966]No idea about the springbars, but I'm disappointed how normal said watch is...
I carefully judge my level of tastelessness - not overly tasteful, but not gross out,...
Height wise, its not particularly big - not thin, obviously, but not as huge as some Breitlings of the same size. Its not THAT heavy either. Again, its obviously not a lightweight, but it doesn't...
I've bought an Invicta! I know that will get half the forum spluttering with horror, but I've always admired their bad taste and it was cheap. I won't post a picture of it here - I know that there...
I had exactly the same conversation in my local Timpsons, but they were happy to test to 100m! Obviously you came across an idiot...
I completely agree with you there!
But if you even mention the 'R' brand in a thread, it always ends up as a multi page bitching fest! I don't dare even spell the name out in full!
After viewing those nightmare products, I think its time to find a new hobby...
As a PS to this, I've just bought a pre-owned box, and whizzed straight round to Timpsons to have it pressure tested! Which they did while I waited - for free! They can only test to 100m pressure...
Yes, they are pointless clutter, I've got loads cluttering my floor! However, if you are into trading luxury brands, then people like the full set including box, papers etc. There again, some of...
You wouldn't ask Timpsons to change the battery - I'm not that daft! But they do say they do pressure testing as a separate service, so they wouldn't have the chance to wreck the watch, just test it....
Timpsons do advertise that you can have your watches pressure tested at their branches. Timpsons aren't of course your go to place for watch servicing, but as I guess you really only want to know...
I must be a very 90s person then! Breitling used to do lots of designs I liked - OK they were very in your face, but there was no mistaking them. I happened to look through their current range on...
It looks big, but not grotesquely so. In the end, it depends on whether you like it yourself or not!
In my quest for a high-end watch I'm going to look at a pre owned Breitling Super Avenger 2 -...
Fish & Chips? I may be looking at £3k watches (WoW have an interesting Breitling Chronoliner for sale) but I'm not sure I can afford Fish & Chips the price they are these days!
Yes - good suggestion. Whitby not a million miles away!
Some random ramblings and I'm looking for advice on the best places to buy pre-owned watches.
I’ve owned quite a few watches over the years, mostly pretty cheap ones and I’ve never bought anything...
Yeah, I have a couple of Rotary Chavitimers (Navitimer hommages) that are marked 'Waterproof' rather than Water Resistant. Ironically, both of them now seem to have lost what water resistance they...
Well as I said in my earlier post, AliExpress themselves have seemed to have acted very well in my case.
I'm not having a great day with Chinese watches - around the same time, I ordered a...
A cautionary tale in which Aliexpress are involved...
I went on to Aliexpress over Xmas looking at the Pagani watches. Whilst I was there I saw a good looking Seiko Chrono Solar watch with Panda...
You may be relatively safe in Mbro...the residents of certain parts of the town probably have no idea of what a watch is...
Surely the true mid life crisis watch would be some massive Diver's watch - WR to at least 1000m - and as big as a church clock, the perfect watch for all those tough macho activities you are now...
I've seen these on Aliexpress - must admit they are tempting. Has anyone seen if they do a Breitling hommages or just Rolex / Omega?
But - has anyone tested the WR rating by actually going...
