Watches using an ETA 2892-A2 Movement?
Hi All,
I would be grateful for some recommendations of watches which make use of this highly regarded ETA movement. Having acquired a Sinn 103 A SA, with a Valjoux 7750 movement, which I really pleased with, I thought that I would turn my attention to this one.
What sparked my interest was a google search, which through up the following review:
http://www.chronometrie.com/eta2892/eta2892.html
I suppose that I am looking for a number of price-point options for possible entry, at the relatively inexpensive end I have identified an Accutron Gemini and a Hamilton Jazzmaster slim - I quite like the latest Jazzmaster, with small seconds, I am not at all sure about the styling on the Accutron however!
Any suggestions along the pricing spectrum, either relatively new, or indeed a model that has been out some time, would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Lomax

Off the top of my head, four options are:-
Omega Seamaster Pro (non-co-axial/GMT models all use a modified 2892 with 2 added jewels)
IWC Aquatimer (All non-chrono models as far as I am aware apart from the vintage re-issue)
Baume & Mercier - Capeland XXL
Victorinox Dive Master Mech 500
There's probably loads more but the above are quite popular models IMO.

Tudor Heritage Chronograph as well, although it does have the piggyback DD on it. :)

I think that covers the main ones in a nutshell. Add to that the hardy perennial Hamilton Navy GMT (unmodded 2892 with a quickset 24h hand complication), or for more expense, the Breitling Colt GMT with finishing and slight mods, or more still, the IWC Mark XVI with several custom-made parts. Various Longines Grandes Classiques use it, as do lot of dressier brands like Chopard, Ebel and Bulgari have it because it's a bit thinner.
Versions of it can often be found in watches with complications like GMT (2893), 3-6-9 chrono (2894), small seconds (2895), big date (2896) and power reserve (2897).

Ulysse Nardin and Epos use the 2892.
Re: Watches using an ETA 2892-A2 Movement?
Dubey & Schaldenbrand use this movement in their Aerodyn range. They decorate the movement in-house, and in some cases piggyback complications on, like the second time-zone subdial on the Duo. I happen to have one that I would be prepared to 'release' ...

"pre-Bond" (c1986-93) 368.1051 Omega Seamaster chronometers have this movement in the guise of the Omega cal. 1111

Omega Dynamic Date (1990's).
Re: Watches using an ETA 2892-A2 Movement?
Doesn't the prs3 use this movement?

My Longines WWW uses the Longines L615, based on the ETA 2895/2 which is the ETA 2892/2 with sub seconds.

Just had a look, no the PRS-3 uses an ETA 2824-2.
Thanks for all the feedback/suggestions, they certainly provide food for thought.

Timefactors' Sewills watches use the 2895 (small-sec 2892), if I recall, with chronometer preparation.

Ah, a definite date. However, will the price be above twa pund?

Heh hey :D
I thought the PRS-30 was shelved indefinitely. But then, "indefinitely" suggests un-shelving at some point. Even then, I was guess an ETA 649x would make its way in there.
