Am i right in remembering that CWC issued a sand/brown face G10 at some time (Gulf 1 perhaps)
Does anybody have one or pictures of such.
Thanks

I've seen a regular G10 whose black dial had gone a sort of chocolate colour, probably sun-faded rather than anything chemical (this happens to a load of watches, of course). But I've never seen, or heard mention of, a sand-coloured one.Quote:

I can't for the life of me remember where i saw it,
but it had a tan-ish sort of face and was on a tan Nato.
I also seem to remember that it had a date window..
Now, the date window wasn't introduced till the GS 2000 model i think (?)
so perhaps it was Gulf 2.
Anybody else any ideas ?
Hamilton and Seiko have done military watches with sand coloured dials, don't think either of them have been issued. The ATP had a white face before they switched to black for the WWW during the 40s and they have been black ever since.
i remember seeing some sand faced mwc ( no moaning at the back there ) g10's on the bay a while back, maybe it was them?
I remember CWC did produce both a green faced and a sand coloured ones. I dont think these were ever issued but I have seen them in Silvermans catalogue years ago, probably just after Gulf war 1. They were battery hatch type and if memory serves me right they had date windows. I hope that is of some help.I would imagine that they were for retail only and not to replace the normal black face model.
Cheers

Seiko 5 Military.
The Seiko 5's are good little watches - £50 or so, I got a few for my young lads (easy to tell the time - note hour/minute scales) auto movement and display back.
No real military connection I think, but a great little watch anyway.
Also comes in black and blue iirc.
I have a couple of these watches in blue and in green. I had a cream one too but it just died without warning.Quote:

The big prob is that if you do not do enough wrist movements in the day that will stop over night. You feel a bit silly jiggling your watch just before bed just to keep it going through the night!
I knew i'd seen it somewhere.. Thankyou Peter.Quote:

I think Silvermans have found some new old stock dials:

I reckon someone at Silvermans has abit of a brain fart and starts to produce anything that will sell to the poorly educated punter.
G10 are too small in my opinion

Only noticed them on the Silvermans website the other week, wouldn't mind seeing them in the metal as the pictures don't really show them properly.
Quite like them both.

I know there's been criticism on the newer versions but I think they look great! Good to see the true colour of the dial.
Enjoy.
Thanks for true pics.
I really rather like that green one...
Looks far better than in the Silvermans photos.
