Not Rolex specifically but interesting pointer as to the state of the market generally:
Watches of Switzerland shares plunge on profit warning
London-listed retailer’s shares drop 30% as it lowers guidance following ‘volatile trading’

Interesting. I’ll have to have a read of this:

-36% in one day, that is.... Disastrous performance. Heads and brands are gonna roll?
Was in Leeds the other day and saw the new (?) Prestons Rolex store in the Leeds Gate centre. Large and expensive looking! Usual windows with exhibition only - and not any professional models at all, though I was only dashing past. Might have been the odd gold Daytona and YMII for sale.
Just had a look in Harrods Rolex outlet. Only saw one watch that was not labelled as exhibition. It was a two tone Yacht Master. Staff looked pretty bored - nobody even approached me to suss me out.

Assortment of bi metals and all gold models for sale, steel op and a explorer 2 also at goldsmiths Oxford,
Usually only exhibition pieces
Similar stuff in window of manchester Trafford. When I asked if they were for sale they laughed and said exhibition only.
They’d forgotten to put the sign in.
I commented that a black explorer 2 can’t have much of a wait, and she said “oh yes we have lists back to 2020”….. aye ok then!
Rootboor at Mappin and Webb in Chester today.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...47fb5ea524.jpg
Nature is healing
It was next to these all with priceshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...aed73ce7e2.jpg
Seems WOS group now show prices on all the watches.
But they’re still not for sale. Looks like that will be the case with the root beer above.
Lee dont know if you ventured into the precinct by Boodle and Dunthorne. Up there on the right is a Watchlab type shop. It often has up to twenty sports Rolex’s in stock at sky high priices eg Hulks at £22k. As the prices have fallen so has their expectations, but their stock level is higher than ever.
Lastly just above Mappin and Web on the Rows, is another grey , who usually has six to ten sports Rolex in stock but never advertises the prices.

There was a Yacht Master Rose gold 40 Osyterflex in the window in Loupe ( part of Beaverbrook ) Croydon yesterday.
Its not there now :friendly_wink:

Im looking for a sub date brand new for a chaps 60th if anyone does see one
Thanks in advance
Last time I was up there everything had exhibition only labels in the windows and through out the store. The Sales Assistant was clear that they had more waitlist names than watches for sale. That was a month ago.
Maybe it’s changed now

I do wonder if this is a sales tactic to push you towards the Certified Pre Owned route? I enquired in Goldsmiths in Newcastle and was told there is still at least a five year wait for a ND sub- so perhaps I’d be more interested in their (over priced IMO) pre owned stock? I politely declined.

Latest displays I’ve seen all have prices and one exhibition card per window display.
If you go in store there is usually one cabinet with stuff for sale. Full gold and Oysterflex skydwellers and the like.
Out of the blue my local AD called me after over 2 years on the list with a Deepsea 136660 JC, boy its gone up about a grand as well, question is whats coming out next, do i wait?
Not a lot of point waiting to see what comes out next month as it won’t be available to most on here for several years at least. I’m surprised the JC is still going, could be a contender for being discontinued, who knows.
If it’s a watch you want and have waited two years for it, then go for it. You do see a lot second hand and the prices have fallen, so only buy if it’s a keeper. I don’t think many of the normal models are instant cash machines these days, which is how it should be.
