Wow the way the bar bent!! The bar looks higher than a typical deadlift from starting position anyone know why? Or just cos there’s so much weight on??
18" bar height, its a partial deadlift.
I've met Mark a couple of times over the years as the competitive strongman scene is pretty small. His hands were literally the size of shovels. At that point I started to realise that I simple don't have the bone structure / frame to be competitive in top level strongman and compared to the average man on the street I'm quite large!
It's a fantastic effort for someone of any age but can't be directly compared to a standard competition deadlift. The bar starts much higher and is bendier so that the full weight doesn't leave the ground until the last few inches of the lift.Quote:
