In my research for VC I see Chopard is one of the few brands with geneve seal approved movements. But don’t see any here.

I had this LU Chopard Diver for a while and sold on the forum - not sure if still around. LUC have the in house movements, and I assume the Geneva Seal as opposed to the standard Chopards which include the Mille Miglia watches

I had this one. Sold it on the forum years ago
It’s a Luc Pro One Sport Orange. Lovely watch. An in-house 4:96 LUC movement which was a work of art

Superb watches. I have two deep watch regrets. Selling a brand new Gen 2 X-33 (my first sale on Sales Corner, and the one of the two most stupid). My second mistake: Selling a Chopard Mille Miglia with an in-house flyback movement; it was beautifully made. I sold it for a Rolex that was not as well finished, frankly. :la:
I've been drooling over the new Alpine Eagle since it hit the press this week, even to the extent of looking it up online at dealers to see prices and availability. The fact that it is WAY outside my price range hasn't seemed to mater!
Chopard and especially the LUC is one I would like soon. I think they are lovely, as someone mentioned, a great micro rotor movement too! This would do nicely....

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes the Alpine Eagle. It's not been universally liked, but I think it's quite stunning...

...but I also like the AP Code 11.59 :)

Some really great watches here. That Alpine Eagle has got me thinking, oh and that blue dial LUC - just beautiful. Where is the best on line place for a deal on these?
A Mille Miglia GMT panda chronograph has been on my want list for a while but I never seem to have the right money when the right watch appears.

I too have been drooling over the alpine eagle.
Fair, but I know id lose interest in movement gawping after a few wears so Im telling myself I could live with it.
Id need to find it at a fairly hefty discount though, or wait until they start appearing used.
The dials are lovely. Do you prefer the blue or the grey? Im undecided!
If you do have a try on would you mind taking some pics IRL?
I think I prefer the grey, but in some pics it feels 'washed out' compared to the blue dial which looks a deeper colour. So one reason to see them side by side!
Will hope to get to the Lon boutique next week, I believe they should be viewable there and will take some pics!
Excellent! I don't quite trust the renders.
I used to really like the Mille Miglia range but my tastes have changed, the LUC divers look good and I’m just slipping over the fence towards liking the Alpine Eagle.
I’m really liking the new Chopard Alpine Eagle. There’s a lot to like and the more choice for us is only positive.
I got sick of all the negative comments on HODINKEE so left the following post with some of my thoughts:
A brilliant SS sports offering by Chopard.
Many commenters lacking any objectivity and showing ignorance and lack of knowledge. Just jumping on the bandwagon of popular easy comments.
Yes Chopard are late to the party but it’s been 5 years in development. Would you rather watch brands not bother competing and we all just buy Rolex, AP and PP and wait a decade on a list to be granted approval to buy? Or battle on the grey market?
Being objective the name is awful. Maybe they just could of called it Alpine but the Eagle bit? Also the date window placement is not brilliant, but, date windows are favoured by consumers and if it went in at 3 or 6 it would have ruined the Roman numeral layout. Not sure but i would have put it at 3.
The steel used is revolutionary not only due to its hardness, allergens quality and superior scratch resistance but the look in person is incredible. Way better than the competition. Also ethical. We should applaud the innovation.
The design isn’t a copy, it’s derived from the 1980 launch of the St Moritz. How different can any SS sports watch look? If you want to call it a copy of the AP RO then so is the PP Nautilus and every watch after. The screws are in fact done properly and engineered purposeful. Take note AP, Hublot. Some people have commented that if B&R took some flak so should Chopard. I disagree. B&R did keep their unique design language honest but no other effort was made, they chucked in a cheap Selita movement and no innovation.
The dial texture is nice but obviously subjective if you like it or not.
In house quality movement that fits the case.
Size is just about right. I would have liked a tad smaller maybe but that subjective and the large bezel makes it feel more like a 39mm watch.
Price wise cheaper than AP, PP, VC etc and in reality we don’t need to go on the grey market and pay multiples of the RRP. Surely this is a good thing for GENUINE collectors and buyers, as in people that actually want to buy and can afford to?!
I think it’s a good offering from Chopard, it adds an alternative and the more competition in the market is only good for us consumers. I’ve had several AP Royal Oaks, had the PP Aquanaut but it’s not fun if you can’t buy them and can’t afford RRP x2 etc.
Well done to Chopard for some innovation.
Well said that man.

Mille Miglia Gran Turismo
Bought via the forum and sold via the forum! One watch I seriously regret selling and miss a lot. However, needs must at the time!
Super build quality, excellent timekeeping, a lovely movement to admire through the back... and the strap smelt of vanilla!
