Stolen: My Entire Watch Collection – Breitling and Omega

Hi all, a tough day-to-day.. My watch collection was stolen in a break in to my home, and it looks like it was a targeted operation with prior knowledge of where my watches are kept.

Given the relative rarity of the vintage watches and the numbered Breitling, I'm hoping that the watch collecting community can keep a lookout for them resurfacing onto the market..

Breitling Navitimer with black face, silver sub dials and bracelet

Breitling Transocean Limited Edition with black face, silver sub dials and mesh bracelet. Limited edition number 111/2000.

Vintage 1966 Omega Speedmaster 105.012 black leather strap with Omega deployment buckle.

Vintage 1969 Omega Speedmaster 145.022 with grey fabric Nato style strap. Rare case back “The first watch worn on the moon”

Vintage 1967 Omega Speedmaster 145.012 with no bracelet or strap.

Omega Speedmaster Titanium. Titanium bracelet. Dark blue face and Glass case back.

Were you adequately insured?

I know the watches may be irreplaceable but the money back will at least help ease the pain?

That really is awful. Sorry to hear that.

Hopefully they may resurface easily if the criminals aren't too careful.

Really sorry to read this. I can only imagine how angry and upset you must feel, particularly as the thieves will probably view your collection in mere cash terms. A horrible thing to happen.

Sorry to hear - I've had the same experience. I hope you get them back, the money ain't going to be the same as some of those will be difficult to replace.

I,m gutted for you, I,ve been thinking more and more about security as I keep my collection in a watch box/ winder in the house and now question the wisdom in this, no amount of insurance and compensate can replace the collection and rare pieces, all of which have a story to them unique to yourself.

Absolute scum - really sorry to hear this. Do you have a window cleaner, as if you do I'd be having the police check his record?

As others have said, it is unlikely that you have been victim of a coincidence. Who knew of your passion for watches, did you talk about it in public? Did you sell any watches and had the buyer come to your house to pick it up? Any house improvement work lately, who else frequents the house (telephone technician, postman, cleaning lady, baby sitter, laundry pick-up...)?

The fact it was such a straightforward robbery surely narrows the number of ppl who would have the knowledge of your collection, so that can hopefully help the police investigation..

With a collection like that I guess its unlikely to be a random break-in? It only adds to the pain to have to consider that the event may be linked to someone you know (although I think that that is often the case).

Well it's a few months since the theft. The police certainly responded well, and made appeals for information in the area. An arrest was made and property searched, but nothing was found and no comment was made during interview. So no further forward unfortunately.
