Here's the thing...

I love photography. At one point in my life I attempted to make a living from it, but the competition was fierce (to put it mildly) and I decided that I wasn't good enough to assume that I could support a family fulfilling my dream. It became a hobby and nothing more - relegated at times to the a place some way behind the every day banalities of life, but always lurking.

I post photos because I hope that other members on here might enjoy looking at them; they're photos of watches and this is a watch forum, so it seems to me that it's as good a place as any to put them. What I don't do, however, is post photos to make any kind of statement, whether it be about my personal circumstances or anything else (nor should anyone allow themselves to draw erroneous conclusions; my advice, for what it's worth, is not to judge what you don't understand). I genuinely don't understand why my expressing a love of both watches and photography should cause anyone to react unpleasantly and I can only suggest that, if you don't like looking at them, you don't look at them. It really is that simple.

I spent a bit of time taking these earlier. It's what I enjoy doing :)

The fact that you have some very nice watches to document shouldn't be a problem either.

I can't afford to buy into the Rolex brand at the moment.
But that doesn't mean I should be denied a little bit of window shopping through your snap shots

I also really enjoy your snaps ( :lol: ) and they are an inspiration to me to try harder. If I ever manage to take a pic half as good as any of yours I would be over the moon.
I find it quite sad that a verbal minority find it somehow distressing that you take the time and effort to produce such fantastic images and post them for, (I believe by far) the majority to enjoy.

One day I'll buy a decent DSLR myself and will aim for the standard you have set.

We are all passionate about watches here and love to see the objects of our desire shot beautifully in the way you and others do. I simply don't have the equipment or the skills to do mine justice.

Not even need to explain your approach in my read. This place would be definitely less without those photos.
If I fall in love with a watch and want to be sure in my feeling I search for your photos about that model...

I would imagine that most people here appreciate your efforts. I strongly suspect that all of those who actually understand how much work goes into the pictures, appreciate your efforts.

Your pics, together with those of one or two others, have served as inspiration to me to spend some more time improving my own photography skills, and I'm grateful for that.

....although it has cost me money in lenses already and given my missus another reason to think I'm a mentalist :twisted:

Well, its clear that you have a thing for your watches, but then again, don't we all. I very much enjoy your posts, and find your pictures inspirational, but with respect to motive, as well as quality.

As it is, they have opened my eyes quite a bit to the vintage rolex' and I appreciate that. Keep 'em coming :)

How odd that anyone should make negative comments... I'm a creative and I can see the passion you have in every shot (for the watches and the photography) I fell every photo post adds to this forum and I think you do yourself. You come in for some ribbing and you always take it with a great nature - as I think 99.9% of the time it is given. Shame someone has to come in with that 0.01%....

Not being aware of what has been said to you it’s difficult to comment.

However how anyone can fail to enjoy your obvious skill at photography is perplexing.

I always enjoy your photos and admire both your skill and your watches.
