The silliness is a simple letter change of course, and i want this (to me) beauty :love7:

An all original PAM 002 B series T dial, fully complete and pukka €9000.00

But when compared to this one seems pretty expensive, PAM 002 B series but an L dial model at €3900.00

Though when compared to this one, seems cheap, PAM 002 A series T dial model at €12000.00

I'm not bothered by lume per-se and don't seek out XYZ million candlepower to bolt on my wrist. I do though have a weakness for colour, class and simplicity. I want the first watch shown which is located in Italy with a private seller and we both prefer a F2F sale but i have to travel. What's the problem? well i suffer with a middle ear imbalance after flying so a return trip in one day gives me lots of post flight/s hassle which can be very, very uncomfortable, so i have to avoid such travel.

It's an expensive item for what it is, is any such watch worth it? Only i can decide but if it had a an L dial i wouldn't have the dilemma as i wouldn't have given it a second look. Bugger!

Hi, I'm looking for quotes to get my 1960's Rolex 6694 serviced with a full case polish. I'm loathed to send it to R-UK because the service will probably be more than half the value. I have used watch doctors before and they were ok with the service and perspex change but I'm not sure I would trust them to clean up the hands (which are original oyster Royal style) or the case.

Any recommendations please? I did try the search but couldn't find a result with specific case polishing and service skills.
Say you have a digital, or digital / analogue watch that gains...

Here's a thought that occured to me over the weekend while adjusting my Aerospace.

Say you have a digital, or digital / analogue watch that gains a number seconds over a month. Wouldn't it be nice if the manufacturers offered a function whereby you could, in effect, "tell" the watch that it gained (or lost) a few seconds a month? Equipped with this information, the watch could then pause (or jump) 0.1 seconds or whatever every 12 hours, and keep itself regulated. It wouldn't be perfect but it would be a substantial improvement, especially for less accurate movements.

Now granted, a lot of people aren't bothered if their watch gains a few seconds. Furthermore, radio-synchronised watches have made that problem go away completely for their owners.

But a lot of people never use the stopwatch / world time / countdown timer / alarms and so on that are offered even with inexpensive digitals, either. And it strikes me as something that wouldn't be that hard to implement for the manufacturer. A lot of recent digital watches are still not radio-synchronised. It just seems like an easy way to improve the accuracy of a watch by getting the owner involved. Just an extra step on the 'adjust' cycle; one button to add a second to the 30-day error, and another to subtract one.

A quick technical question for the capable/knowledgeable: my brother-in-law has a TAG Carrera with a Cal. 6 movement (looks to be based on the ETA 2892, with sub-seconds). This was a wedding present from my sister and is less than a month old. He's noticed that over the past few days it's started gaining time - running at least a minute per day fast where it hasn't been previously.

My suspicion is that this could be down to a bit of magnetic disturbance - the watch hasn't been dropped or abused and I can't think of anything else which would cause its behaviour to change suddenly like this. However, I am horribly aware that my understanding of such things is firmly theoretical, rather than practical - so any other ideas would be welcome.

The next question is what to do about it. The watch was bought from WoS who will presumably simply send it back to LVMH for a couple of months... Would it be worth his taking it to a local independent to get it bunged through a degaussing machin, before sending it away for ages? And if so, can anyone recommend somewhere in the City of London?

Hi.
I'm new to this forum as a member but have been a lurker for a few month's now.
I've always liked watches since being a child and as a teenager when I started work I decided I was going to buy a Rolex (looking back I think it must have been a submariner), and that I'd save up and buy one. I made a sort of pact with myself that I wouldn't buy any sort of nice watch over and above the most basic functional piece until I could afford my dream watch.
Anyway, fast forward 20 years and that watch which was semi affordable back in the day is now an rrp that I could never dream of justifying splashing out on, what with all the family commitments and bills that I didn't have as a teenager, so I've relented and decided to buy some cheaper watches I like and see where it takes me.
So far I've bought a Roamer venus which I love to bits and a Steinhart OVM which is growing on me now I've put it back on it's bracelet from the nato I'd bought for it.
Next on the list is a dress watch. I thought I'd decided on the Tissot visodate but I've been pondering changing my mind and going for the C. Ward Malvern c5. This is were the advice comes into my post.
The problem is I don't know anybody who has a cw watch and would be buying it blind. Can any of you offer advice as to which is the better watch from a quality point of view (I know asthetics are a lot more personal)?
Also any other suggestions for an automatic dress watch which is sub £400 with a white face and a 39mm to 41mm diameter would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have a ana-digi TAG - model number CAC111D, bought from new about 12 years ago .....its my trusty beater used regularly at the gym / hiking / swimming

Its this model - http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Tag-Heu.../000/item/8994 - but with the rubber strap

It must be over 5 years since I had the battery replaced and the digital display has started to flash which I believe is the end of life indicator for the battery

Given what I use the watch for I want a proper re-seal. I know lots of you use/recommend Genesis watches but according to their website they do not offer any services for TAG ana-digi models.

Can any of you please recommend a suitable watch repairer for this small job
